Sales and marketing are the lifeblood of a business, and this was proved to me some time ago.
I was listening to a podcast and the host was interviewing a ‘serial’ entrepreneur who had launched, and subsequently sold, around 25 businesses. The fascinating story unfolded, and just as the interview was about to end, the host asked the entrepreneur:
“In closing, could you please provide the listeners with three tips to help them become more successful entrepreneurs?”
“Oh, that’s easy,” replied the entrepreneur.
“Tip 1: Sales and marketing.”
“Tip 2: Sales and marketing.”
“Tip 3: Sales and marketing.”
The main takeaways?
Without customers, we don’t have a business, we have a hobby.
Without sales and marketing, we don’t have customers.
